Welcome

In 2006, Muuga Harbour celebrated its 20th birthday. Within two decades (a really short period of time compared to thousands of years of existence of port business in Old City Harbour area) Muuga Harbour has become the biggest cargo harbour in Estonia.

The harbour, in the first place built to serve grain and fruit importers, today serves more than 30 million tons of cargo annually. And the volumes of liquid bulk, coal, fertilizers and containerised cargo transhipped via Muuga Harbour remarkably exceed the volumes of grain and perishables. To be honest, cargo volumes handled in the harbour today exceed twofold the projected handling capacity of 16 million tons to be reached within 20 years of existence.

In spite of that, in terms of land availability for extension, Muuga Harbour possesses the greatest development potential in the entire region. And the investments of Muuga Harbour are targeted at deploying its eastern part as a port allowing to almost double the harbour’s throughput capacity within the next decade.
